Effective Date: April 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how ScoreSpace, Inc., operating the Jamzo platform ("Jamzo," "we," "us," or "our") at https://jamzo.com, collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information. By accessing or using Jamzo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), Section 13 of this Privacy Policy contains additional information about your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.
When you sign up or log in via social login providers (such as Google, GitHub, or Discord), we receive certain information from those providers, which may include your name, email address, profile picture, and unique account identifier. We only receive information that you authorize the provider to share with us.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
If you opt in to share your information with a jam host or sponsor, we may share your username, email address, and submission details with the host or sponsor of the relevant jam. You control this sharing through your participation settings. We are not responsible for how jam hosts or sponsors use your data after it is shared.
Certain information is visible to other users by default, including your username, profile information, and game jam submissions. Voting scores are aggregated and not individually attributed to specific voters. You may adjust your profile visibility in your account settings.
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting (US-based cloud infrastructure), analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel), email delivery, and customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jamzo, our users, or the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction involving ScoreSpace, Inc., your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity.
Users Under 13 (COPPA Compliance): Jamzo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will promptly delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
Users 13–17: Users between 13 and 17 may use Jamzo with parental or guardian consent. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's use of the platform.
EEA/UK Users Under 16: Under the GDPR, where we rely on consent as a legal basis for processing, users under 16 in the EEA/UK must have consent provided or authorized by a parent or guardian. Member States may lower this threshold to 13. We apply the threshold of the user's country of residence.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specifically:
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, analyze usage, and improve your experience. For detailed information about the cookies we use and your choices, please refer to our separate Cookie Statement. Key technologies include:
You can access, update, or delete your account information through your profile settings.
We may send you emails about new jams, featured events, and platform updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Opting out of marketing emails does not affect transactional emails about your account or jams you have actively joined.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or through any cookie preference controls we make available on the Platform. Where required by applicable law, non-essential cookies (including analytics) will not be activated until you provide consent. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. Please see our California Privacy Notice for details.
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR. Please see Section 13 of this Privacy Policy for details.
Jamzo is operated from the United States, and all data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you access Jamzo from outside the United States — including from the EEA or UK — your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
For EEA and UK users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal mechanism for transferring your personal data to the United States. Where we share data with third-party service providers (such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel), those providers maintain their own data transfer mechanisms. See Section 13 for more detail.
Jamzo may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content (including games hosted externally, Discord servers, and social media profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through Jamzo.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date, and, where appropriate, by email or platform notification. For EEA/UK users, where changes affect processing based on consent, we will seek renewed consent where required. Your continued use of Jamzo after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

As an EEA or UK resident, you have the following rights under the GDPR. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to limitations under applicable law:
To exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us at [email protected] with the subject line "GDPR Request." We will verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within one (1) month of receiving your request. If your request is complex or we receive a high volume of requests, we may extend this period by up to two additional months, and we will notify you of any such extension.
You will not be charged a fee for exercising your rights unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on the request.
Your personal data is transferred to and stored in the United States, where ScoreSpace, Inc. is established and where our servers are located. The United States has not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission or the UK government.
To safeguard your data when it is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission (Decision 2021/914) as the primary transfer mechanism. Where our third-party service providers (such as Google and Mixpanel) process EEA/UK data, they maintain their own transfer mechanisms, including SCCs and supplementary measures. You may request a copy of the relevant SCCs by contacting us.
Jamzo involves certain processing activities specific to game jams that we want to highlight for EEA/UK users:
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making (including profiling) that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, as described in Article 22 of the GDPR.
In accordance with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, non-essential cookies (including Google Analytics and Mixpanel) will not be placed on your device until you provide affirmative consent. We provide mechanisms for you to manage your cookie preferences, and you may change your preferences at any time. Essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the platform do not require consent and cannot be disabled.
